| Hello fellow alumni from 1988 to 1990. I recently returned from a trip down in Chile. I was there celebrating the holidays with family and friends. It was fantastic -- 30 days in Chile is always pleasant. I think the best part of the trip was when I had dinner with my good friend Alberto Plaza. That was cool. I have not visited the website here in a while, and obviously there have been some career changes since the last time I visited. I am currently a Diplomat who works for the US Embassy in Berlin. I'll be working in South America for my next assignment. Prat del Primer Quorum de los Setenta (Consejero del Area Chile de Elder Jeffrey R. Holland) me llamó y me apartó como el nuevo Presidente de Estaca de Viña del Mar, fusionaron la estaca de Agua Santa y Viña del Mar en una sola. En la conferencia del Domingo habían mas de 800 miembros que levantaron la mano para apoyar la nueva Presidencia de Estaca. Estoy feliz junto a mi esposa e hijas, las bendiciones de Dios han sido derramadas en nuestra familia y comparto con ustedes esta gran responsabilidad, y les digo que siento un manto similar al de la mision de regla, es maravilloso, saludos y un abrazo a todos. |

| Hi you all. I was checking Vina website and saw that you had a reunion. That's great. Friday Sis. Taylor and I were poco trustee knowing we wouldn't be there. We surely enjoy being with you all and we miss you. Every six weeks we have the Tuxtla Gutierrez missionaries in this area come to the temple. They split it up in two sessions on opposite days. There are a total of about 60 missionaries in this area. About 90% of them are from Mexico.
The first six Sundays here I spoke nine times and sister Taylor twice. It is like being in the mission. This coming week end we will give a fireside. Two weeks from today we will travel up to the state of Veracruz for a stake conference. We will be representing the Temple presidency and have been asked to participate in all three sessions. We will be staying at a hotel on the beach, but it is so hot here I doubt that we will hardly get our feet wet. We got a e-mail from Sister Concha, from Bolivia. She lost her baby and almost lost her life. We pray for all of you and love you. President and Sister Taylor |

| So, it has been a while but I just wanted to let everyone know that on July 26th, 2002 we had our first baby. His name is Justin Max Angell and he weighed 7.3lbs. He is a chubby guy with white hair and HUGE blue eyes. We are having a lot of fun with him. Things are going well here in Pocatello, I think we will be here for a few more years. Hank is studying engineering at I.S.U. and has a full ride for 4 more years. I just get to be at home with the Budda Man now (Justin). Hope all is well with everyone. | Recently we switched to the local Spanish branch because they needed help & I missed the Spanish. They called me to be the 2nd Counselor in the RS. I didn't think there'd be many problems because we're in the states. But I guess there's the same problems simply because of the language barrier. Anyway, I've had the calling for 3 weeks and am learning a lot. The President is thrilled to have me though because she admits that they don't understand some things because of the language. She's glad I speak English so I can help them know what to do. We also might start English classes because a lot of sisters want to learn. I feel like I'm in Chile again!!! (Which isn't a bad thing, because I'd love to be there again) I just think it's amazing to see some of the same things here as I did there, especially when it comes to how things are run. |

| For the missionaries from ancient times. Remember Brad Wilcox? He came to Melbourne a few weeks ago and gave us a wonderful talk during a fireside. The last thing he expected was to find un chileno that served in Vina during his time.
It was great. He invited me and my family to the Mission home where we sang "La Vina del Senor" which was the Mission song during the early eighties. Actually, he wrote the words of that song. I know that all you guys from ancient times have strong feelings about the great time we had in Vina about twenty years ago. Otherwise we would not come back to this site once in a while to see if we can find an old friend. It was great to meet Brad once again. I hope one day I will be able to meet President Day as well. Hola! to all the former missionaries that served in Chile Vina Del Mar during the Egbert years. We are trying to locate as many missionaries as we possibly can that served during Pres and Sister Egberts term. They have returned from Columbia as Mission Presidents of the MTC there and we were hoping to get together in October, but we have had a difficult time locating very many of the missionaries. The Egberts do not have very much information to help out, so we have had to start from scratch. We have spent a great deal of time calling on the telephone and searching the best we can but it takes a great deal of time. So I am requesting your help in locating anyone that you may know. If you have names, address and phone numbers that would be fabulous! If you have an e-mail address for any of them that would be great also, it saves a ton on postage. We have a list of about 175 or so American missionares that served during that time and have only located about 50-60 of them so we have a long ways to go. We would truely appreciate any help that you could give us. Just reply back to this message with any information and I will keep you updated. We were hoping to meet in a church close to the Egberts Home in SLC. We would like to have the Egberts talk to us and sing the mission song and a few things to bring back memories. Maybe Sister Egbert could even give us a hygiene talk or something, just for old time sakes. Then we will just be able to visit and talk about old times and relive some wonderful memories. We will probably have something to munch on etc. It would be great to see a lot of people there. We also want to put together a surprise scrapbook for the Egberts that will include a letter from us about our lives and thanking them for everthing they did for us and a picture of our families etc or whatever you would like to include. We will also send out a questionaire. Then we can compile all the info about everyone and could have available for purchase if people are interested. But we need your help.
